## Short answer

- On Hostinger, the longer the billing term, the lower the monthly price, and 48 months is the cheapest per month on every shared and cloud plan.
- Premium web hosting is $3.49/mo on 12 months and $2.49/mo on 48 months, which is 29% lower before the coupon.
- You pay the whole term up front, and the 30-day refund only covers the first month, so a long term only saves money if you keep the site.
- A longer first term also delays the first renewal at Hostinger's higher standard rate.

## Why longer terms are cheaper per month

Hostinger prices commitment. The introductory discount is bigger the longer you sign up for, so the same plan costs less per month on 48 months than on 12. You're trading flexibility for a lower rate.

That's the whole mechanism. There's no hidden catch in the term itself. The catches are elsewhere: you pay up front, and the low price ends when the term does.

## Monthly price by plan and term

Here's every web, cloud and VPS plan on each term, from the indicative USD list. The last column is how much cheaper per month 48 months is than 12.

| Plan | 12 months | 24 months | 48 months | 48 vs 12 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Single | $3.99/mo | $2.99/mo | $2.49/mo | 38% lower |
| Premium | $3.49/mo | $2.99/mo | $2.49/mo | 29% lower |
| Business | $4.99/mo | $3.99/mo | $3.49/mo | 30% lower |
| Cloud Startup | $9.99/mo | $8.99/mo | $7.99/mo | 20% lower |
| Cloud Professional | $18.99/mo | $15.99/mo | $13.99/mo | 26% lower |
| Cloud Enterprise | $29.99/mo | $24.99/mo | $21.99/mo | 27% lower |
| KVM 1 | $6.99/mo | $5.99/mo | $4.99/mo | 29% lower |
| KVM 2 | $8.99/mo | $7.99/mo | $6.99/mo | 22% lower |
| KVM 4 | $15.99/mo | $13.99/mo | $12.99/mo | 19% lower |
| KVM 8 | $29.99/mo | $26.99/mo | $22.99/mo | 23% lower |

> From the bench: The cart I've seen offers VPS plans on 12 and 24 months, so don't count on the 48-month VPS column being selectable. Check what your cart actually offers before you plan around it.

## A worked example: Premium web hosting

Here's the arithmetic. Twelve months of Premium is $3.49/mo, or $41.88 up front before the coupon. Forty-eight months is $2.49/mo, or $119.52 up front. With the extra 20% from WEBHOST2026, those become $33.48 and $95.52.

So the four-year term costs more today, but works out at about $1.99/mo a month against $2.79/mo. If you'd otherwise renew a 12-month plan three times at the standard rate, the gap gets far wider, because each renewal is at the higher price.

If the site dies after a year, though, the 48-month term was the expensive choice. After the first 30 days the money is spent.

## My rule for choosing

Match the term to your confidence in the project, not to the lowest number on the page.

- **12 months** if you're testing an idea and might walk away. Lowest up-front cost, highest monthly rate.
- **24 months** if the project is real but its shape may change. It's also my default for a VPS, where needs shift faster and the end of the term is a natural point to resize.
- **48 months** if you'd be genuinely annoyed to lose the site. Lowest monthly price and the longest wait before renewal pricing.

> From the bench: Pay for the term you will actually use. A longer term lowers the monthly price; it doesn't lower what you commit to.

## What happens when the term ends

The intro price covers the first term only. Then the plan renews at the standard rate, which is higher, and the cart shows that rate in small print when you buy. A longer first term simply pushes that day further out.

There are honest ways to keep the renewal down, covered in the [renewal price guide](https://www.savemores.store/guides/hostinger-renewal-price). ## FAQ

### Is 48 months always the cheapest per month?

Yes, on every plan in the price list the 48-month monthly price is the lowest, then 24, then 12. VPS plans may only be offered on 12 and 24 months in the cart.

### Can I change my billing term later?

You choose a term at checkout and again at renewal. If you're unsure, a shorter first term keeps the commitment smaller.

### Does the coupon work on every term?

It applies to eligible plans and terms, and the order summary shows the discount line before you pay. Monthly billing is often excluded from promotions.
