The short answer
- 01Hostinger's sale price covers your first term only; the plan then renews at the standard rate, often two to three times higher.
- 02Coupons, WEBHOST2026 included, apply to new purchases and do not lower a renewal.
- 03The biggest lever is a longer first term, which delays the renewal price; the next is renewing on a long term rather than monthly.
- 04You can turn off auto-renew in hPanel under Billing and the plan runs until the paid term ends.
Why the second bill is bigger
Every large host prices this way. What you pay at signup is an introductory price for the first term. When that term ends, the plan renews at the standard rate, which is commonly two to three times higher.
It isn't a hidden fee. The renewal rate is printed in the cart, usually in small type under the price. It's just easy to skim past when the intro number is doing all the shouting.
Does a coupon lower the renewal?
No. WEBHOST2026 and referral codes like it apply to new purchases. They take 20% off the first term, not the renewal. When someone sells a "renewal coupon", they're almost always describing one of the methods below.
1. Take the longest first term you'll use
This is the biggest lever by far. On 48 months you pay the sale price, less the extra 20%, for four years before the standard rate ever applies. On 12 months you meet it after one. On Premium, that four-year term with the code is $95.52 up front, about $1.99/mo a month. The trade-offs are in 12 vs 24 vs 48 months.
2. Renew on a long term, not monthly
Standard prices also fall per month on longer terms. When renewal comes around, pick 24 or 48 months instead of letting it roll over at the shortest term.
3. Look for a renewal offer before it renews
Hostinger sometimes shows a discounted renewal in hPanel or by email in the weeks before a plan expires. Turn off auto-renew a few weeks early, check the billing section, and renew manually if an offer is there.
4. Renew on the plan you actually use
If you bought Business and run one small site, renewing on Premium saves real money every year. Check your storage and traffic in hPanel before you renew rather than defaulting to what you bought years ago. Which Hostinger plan sets out what each plan is for.
5. Buy a new plan and move to it
Buying a fresh plan with a coupon and migrating to it is allowed. For a small site the move is quick. It still takes an afternoon and you have to move the domain, so only do it when the saving justifies the work.
A renewal-day checklist
About a month before the term ends:
- 1Open hPanel, go to Billing and note the renewal price and date.
- 2Check actual usage against the plan; downsize if you're well under.
- 3Look for a renewal offer in hPanel or your email.
- 4Choose a long renewal term rather than the shortest.
- 5If a new plan plus migration is clearly cheaper and the site is small, consider moving.
Renewals outside the US
Renewal prices are set per country store, so they won't match USD figures. Your country page covers local currency and tax, and the cart always shows the renewal rate before you pay. See coupon by country.
Questions people ask
How much does Hostinger renew at?
It depends on the plan and term. The cart shows the renewal price when you buy and hPanel's billing section shows it afterwards; expect two to three times the intro price.
Can I turn off auto-renew on Hostinger?
Yes, in hPanel under Billing. The plan keeps running until the end of the term you paid for.
Does Hostinger warn me before renewing?
Yes. Hostinger emails renewal reminders before the term ends, to the email address on your account.
Is there a Hostinger renewal coupon?
Not in the usual sense. Referral codes apply to new purchases; renewal savings come from longer terms, renewal offers in hPanel or right-sizing the plan.
Independent site, not Hostinger. Buy through my links and Hostinger pays me a referral fee; your price is the same or lower. How that works.
