Hostinger free domain: who gets one and how to claim it

You get a free domain for the first year with Premium and Business web hosting, Premium WordPress and the plans above it, and cloud hosting, as long as the term is 12 months or longer. Single and the VPS plans don't include one.

1. 1Log in to hPanel once payment has gone through.
2. 2Look for the "Claim domain" prompt on the home screen. If it isn't there, open Domains and find the free domain voucher.
3. 3Search for the name you want and choose an eligible extension, such as .com, .net or .online.
4. 4Enter the owner details using your own name and email, so the domain is legally yours.

The voucher is tied to your hosting plan. Domains aren't refundable, so if you claim the free domain and then cancel the hosting inside the 30-day window, the domain's cost comes out of your refund. The domain itself stays registered to you until its term ends.

After the first year the domain renews at Hostinger's normal price for that extension. A .com renews at a modest yearly fee. Some extensions look cheap on day one and renew much higher, so check the renewal price on the search screen before you choose.

You can point an existing domain at Hostinger by changing its nameservers, or transfer it in. You can still claim the free voucher for a second name, which is useful for a brand variant or a redirect.

Many country extensions such as .co.uk, .ca and .com.au can be registered at Hostinger, and some are covered by the voucher. A few have eligibility rules: .com.au needs an Australian business number and .ca needs a Canadian presence. Some, like .pk, are only sold through local registrars. If yours isn't offered, register it elsewhere and point it at Hostinger with nameservers.
